Year 10 Drama Children's Theatre

The Drama students selected a picture book from the IRC to turn into a play utilising the techniques of the style they have been taught. There was a wide range of plays including 'The Gruffalo', 'Cindy-Ella', 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and 'The Wild Things'. They then performed in front of Years 3 and 4 students at St Agatha's Primary School.

The subject of Drama relies on an audience for its assessments and having a specific targeted 'real life' audience appropriate for the task can assist the students in their process of making their theatre pieces. It gives the students a clear focus throughout the development of their pieces in ensuring they have a clear dramatic meaning in order to create audience engagement.
