Nine HSC Technology Major Works Feature in Exemplary Nominations


Congratulations to the following nine Mount St Benedict College Year 12 students who have been nominated for Shape 2019, In Tech and Texstyle, exhibitions that showcase exemplary TAS Major Projects in the areas of Design and Technology, Industrial Technology and Textiles and Design from the 2019 Higher School Certificate examinations.

Design and Technology

Eliza Hayman: Transport NSW branded kiosk to increase convenience for commuters.
Rebecca Wood: A water refill station for the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.

Industrial Technology

Caitlin Hajje: music video, website and digital photography magazine centring on the ideas of loss and healing.

Claudia Geromboux: ‘Ma’cordez-vous Cette Danse’ music video that focuses on the colour and freeness that is brought into people's lives through dance.

Courtney Nader: ‘Dear Older Self’ music video promoting the mental health of teenagers in today's society and how they need to be reminded of their true selves.

Elise Allen: Inspired by Art and Design, ‘Oddsocks’ is an interactive magazine about finding your creative outlet.

Jordyn Harrison: ‘Signs of Happiness’ interactive magazine and a promotional video.

Jessica White: ‘Fragile Minds’ promote awareness of ‘silent’ mental illnesses through a music video that enters the life behind the mask of two teenage girls.

Textiles and Design

Natalie Winiarski: one piece couture set, designed from cultural and contemporary inspirations.

Best wishes to our Design and Technology class (16 students), Industrial Technology Multimedia class (12 students) and Textiles and Design class (7 students) as they await their HSC results in mid-December.

Congratulations to the girls and the expertise of their teachers, Dr Southall, Mr Jones, Ms Nguyen and Ms Claridge.

Shape 2019 opens at the Powerhouse Museum, Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences on 29 February 2020 and closes on 3 May 2020.

Texstyle is an exhibition of Higher School Certificate Textiles and Design Major Projects. In 2020 Texstyle will be held from 3 to 6 March.
