MYBennies

Year 7 have had their first lesson for the new subject MYBennies. Nine specialist teachers are working together from Religious Education, English, PDHPE, TAS, Geography, History and Drama to deliver a new learning program which will foster students creativity and problem solving; communication; critical thinking; information and media literacy; global citizenship; collaboration and teamwork and independence in learning. The students are grouped by their TAS classes with 21 - 22 students in each group allowing students to meet students not in their base classes.

The first lesson involved students discovering what the subject MYBennies is all about, getting to know each other and developing a visual of the collective strengths of their MYBennies class group. The recent double lesson saw the girls take a walking tour of the College to discuss the physical environment, history of the College and support services available to them within the College as well as completing some more orientation activities using their new laptop/tablets.

The MYBennies Year 7 teachers look forward to sharing with you via the Newsletter, College Facebook and Twitter accounts the learning journey we are all undertaking in developing the new subject MYBennies.
