Junior Social Justice Forum

A group of Year 7, 8 and 9 students enjoyed a Refugees and Asylum Seekers Seminar organised by the Year 10 Community Future Problem Solving Team.

The seminar included a number of activities with a particular focus on the language used in our community when people speak of Refugees and Asylum Seekers.

The group also had the privilege of hearing Ms Raneem Alqysie, a young women from Iraq who told the story of having to flee with her family from Baghdad at the age of ten and her journey which ultimately led her to her being settled as a refugee in Australia some five years later.
