Class of 2017 HSC Results

The Class of 2017 continued the record of outstanding HSC results at Mount St Benedict College, Pennant Hills. Guided by their motto ‘One small step for me, one giant leap for MSB’, Year 12 students distinguished themselves through their commitment to their studies, joy of learning and excellent relationships with dedicated and professional staff at the College.

The College was ranked as the 16^th best performing of all Catholic schools in NSW and overall 81st best performing school in NSW*.

Three students were named on the All Rounders List, recognising the achievement of a Band 6 (or its equivalent) in ten HSC units [including English]. The girls were Olivia Giacomelli. Madeline Pfeffercorn and Holly Porvaznik.

Madeline Pfeffercorn achieved the highest known ATAR at the College of 98.95.

The College Principal Maria Pearson congratulated students on excellent results.

“Our academic results continue to give us every reason to be so proud of our girls,” Mrs Pearson said.

“We have enjoyed the leadership of our Class of 2017 who have been excellent role models. These are young women who will be leaders of the future - articulate, confident and intelligent decision-makers.”

This year the College had 137 mentions on the Distinguished Achievers List.

In 34 of the 38 courses attempted the mean examination mark for the College was higher than the State’s mean and in 79% of these courses the mean was at least five marks higher than the State’s mean.

An estimated 29% of the eligible cohort achieved an ATAR over 90, 58% achieved an ATAR over 80, and 80% achieved an ATAR over 70.
