Success at Future Problem Solving National Championships


Congratulations to Mount St Benedict College (MSB) Future Problem Solving (FPS) Teams who were invited to compete at the FPS National Championships held at Knox Grammar this weekend. The College now have 12 invitations to the International Championships, to be held in Wisconsin, USA in June 2018. 

 

Congratulations to our teams:

Year 10 Community Problem Solving Team with their project on ‘Wise Decisions’ second place in the Senior division.

Students: Lily O’Brien, Natalia Bennett, Claire Dean, Caitlyn Dunk, Jessica Curran, Dusana Barker, Tenee Arthur, Jessica Tan and Lara Bryant.

Scenario Writing – First place (Middle division) Madeleine Sylvester. Madeleine also placed second in the onsite writing competition middle division with the narrowest of margins.

Worthy mentions to the Year 9 Community Team who scored very highly with their project ‘anrPerfect Imperfections’.

Students: Charlie Prestage, Amelie Skinner, Stephanie Calabrese, Marily Syrmalis, Annabelle Hendry, Natasha Mehta, Renee Tourlas, Anna Garment, Lauren Baker, Laura Fothergill, Christina Marren, Felicia Gunawan, Lillian Ward, Tara Miletic and Myah Demasi.

Global Issues Team who reached the second round of evaluations and placed fourth in the heat of the action plans.

Students: Raquel Andree, Cecilia Cullen, Jacinta Mifsud and Therese Barbara.

GIPS Individual Senior Rebecca Wood not only competed individually in a two-hour booklet competition with good results but also adjudicated the action plan skits.
