Broken Bay Chef Challenge

Year 12 Hospitality students competed in a MasterChef style commercial cookery competition recently at St Peter's Catholic College, Tuggerah. Seven schools from Sydney and the Central Coast battled it out in the inaugural competition. Three Year 12 MSB students designed their two course menu from a prescribed list of ingredients. They were assessed on their menu design, workflow, technical skills and final product by the Head Chef from Kooindah Waters Resort and Sandra Stowe, Head of Commercial Cookery at Ourimbah TAFE. The girls were interviewed during the 90 minute cooking period and they came away with a fantastic finished menu that was a favourite amongst the contestants.
